Problem
Users of WD TV (Similar product to Apple TV) found the accessory, a traditional physical remote, unintuitive, too mechanical, outdated, and often unnecessary.
Solution
I researched and designed a WDTV remote mobile app that operates Western Digital’s WD TV product using WiFi connection. The mobile app mimics the physical remote that comes with the hardware. With users spending more time on their mobile devices, the remote app also provided entertainment content in addition to its navigational features. I designed the app for iOS and Android phone and tablet resolutions. The app is currently available to download on the iTunes App Store.

Contribution
I sketched, authored, and developed the concepts and flows. I designed and produced the wires, the app's look and feel, development specifications, and asset delivery and management.
Client
Western Digital is a long-time leader in hard drive technology designs and manufactures and the best selling internal and external hard drive company in the world. The company design mobile applications to enhance storage drive costumer experience.
Problem
CloudOne offers simple, quick, and robust CRM platform that lets customers in the automotive sector create, develop, and manage their own campaigns. When I joined the platform was divided into a number of separate interfaces. The need was to unify and redesign the offerings under a single newly styled web and mobile interface.
Solution
Our product team completely redesigned the tool to unify CloudOne's offerings and present a single interface for its automotive clients. A simple login allows users to manage their leads and campaign performances as well as obtain crucial statistics and reports.
Problem
The WD Venue media storage box was hardware device manufactured by Western Digital to allow network access to users' storage devices to interact and enjoy their personal media. The issue we needed to solve was to design an intuitive and friendly interface that would emotionally connect the users to their data.
Solution
We set out to design and build a media-rich aggregating interface with which users would access, interact, and share media files stored on network storage devices. The project was deep and lengthy, and involved intensive research, testing, and many rounds of sketches, wires, and comps. Images on the page are arranged according to this project work timeline.
My contribution
Concept, research, sketches, wires, product-family UI style guide, hi-fidelity comps, asset production, specifications, delivery, and the overall visual management.

Problem
Socialcast by VMware is a chat and comment collaboration platform. It improves internal communication and efficiency. However, when I joined Socialcast in the beginning of 2015, its chat tool was hard to use. It was unclear to users how to start a new chat, or to view their chat history. The feature was hidden.
Solution
We designed a new responsive, user-friendly, open chat panel that kept a timely updated interactive chat list. The panel significantly simplified chat, starting and organizing chats, and helped to streamline users' overall everyday workflows.
The images shown on this page show a representation of beginning sketches, wires, specs, and final product.
Contribution
I conceptualized and authored the feature, from the whiteboard and my sketchbook, to flows, wires, comps, assets, and carefully built specifications for our developers.
Client
Socialcast, by VMware, is an enterprise social networking app that aims to improve employees' productivity and communication.
Problem
vSphere and Socialcast are two products by VMware. vSphere lets businesses virtualize their physical servers and centrally manage these servers. Socialcast is a communication and collaboration chat tool. vSphere users and managers became aware they lack internal communication and collaboration between teams and individual.
Solution
To increase internal communication, collaboration, and overall efficiency, my team designed an integrated flow to embed a Socialcast chat portlet inside the vSphere interface. That allowed users to directly and quickly message stakeholders and increase productivity.
My Contribution
I conceptualized the project and flow, wired and designed integrated logic, and built and polished the visual comps for presentation and development.
Problem
Western Digital's WD My Passport Wireless is an portable external hard drive that lets users access their data wirelessly using hotspot. The challenge we had was to create an intuitive and functional interface as an extension to a complicated hardware product. In short, we needed to simplify the experience of using the device.
Solution
After researching our market options and capabilities, we came up with a simple and easy to use interface for our customers to connect and configure the product. My team storyboarded the desired use-cases, then continued to iterate the design by rapidly testing the concept with potential users.

Problem
Zero Motorcycles manufacture all-electric motorcycles. The bikes are powerful and fun to ride. However, they offered minimal dashboard data feedback for the riders, and that had the potential to create road-side issues.
Solution
I designed a dashboard mobile app to be used as an extension to the rider’s motorcycle physical interface. Bluetooth connects the phone to the bike, and the app provides essential riding data, both in-line as well as off, to enhance his/her riding experience. The app was for both iOS and Android phones.
My contribution
Concept, sketches, wires, hi-fidelity comps, final look and feel, asset production and delivery.
Client
Zero Motorcycles is a manufacturer of 100% electric motorcycles for the street and dirt.
Problem
VMware needed a design for an app that lets users intelligently, efficiently, and automatically schedule meetings and events. Often users would run into issues scheduling meetings, and would spend useless time finding calendar openings.
Solution
I came up with a design that featured a smart backend algorithm to search and finds available meeting times. The algorithm integrates with invitees' calendars to only return the most available times, automatically schedule meetings, and therefore save employee time and reduce unnecessary miscommunication.

Problem
SalesforceIQ, a subsidiary of salesforce.com, is an is an intelligent CRM for small businesses. The company needed a solution to better organize and manage project feedback. After the product feedback was entered into a centralized system, it was difficult to detect duplicate comments, prioritize feedback comments, and/or make better structural sense from some of the comments.
Solution
I designed a web app called Lasso. The app let users capture, enter, and prioritize feedback and to better organize the company’s feedback filtering system and to more efficiently resolve product issues.
The app features a product feedback card dashboard, where team members could organize feedback-entered comments and turn them into actionable tasks.
Contribution
I conceptualized, authored, and designed the app the feature, from the whiteboard and my sketchbook, to flows, wires, comps, assets, and carefully built specifications for development.
Product
As a designer, I take great pride and joy in the art of UI and UX specifications. I believe presenting final UI specifications, the interaction and asset details that compose the layout and screens is no less than any other design task. The following is a collection of spec books I put together for some of the products I designed. These collections are the latest version for each project. They were all living documents, seeing many versions over the course of their project development periods.

Personal Achievement
Children's books is a passion of mine. I love looking through the amazing illustrations and discovering new storiesThe children's section inside any bookstore is one of my favorite hangout spots, where I spent countless hours with my two boys. Little Figarro is a book I wrote and illustrated in 2001. The book was eventually published in 2008 and can now be purchased on-line, in retailers such as Amazon and Barnes and Nobles.
