I was born in Israel and moved to the US around the age of 14. High school was spent on mostly art and water polo, from which time I built a passion for cartooning, story telling, design, sociology, and politics. That combination helped me to land my first creative gig as the editorial cartoonist for my college newspaper, The Daily Collegian, at Fresno State.
I continued with political cartooning after college, and also began building a graphic design career. I moved back to the Bay Area and started working as a freelancer. I worked with many Bay Area start-ups, as well as bigger companies, such as Microsoft and Amgen.
In 2003 I joined DVDPlay, a movie-rental kiosk company. Without much planning, I found myself in the entertainment business. DVDPlay was an interesting and fun experience in both product and digital design. It was at DVDPlay that I got into more user experience design that involved touch, (Kiosk screens) Web, and print. It was at Western Digital that I re-evaluated my skills and design focus and began concentrating more on user experience design, with a strong emphasis on visual design. After WesternDigital, I continued designing products for VMware, for a product called Socialcast. Socialcast is an enterprise social networking app, with a focus on improving internal productivity and communication.
My strongest point is my ability to take a step back and visualize the big-picture. I often communicate my vision through story telling, sketching, and a careful attention to design detail and quality.
