Problem
Socialcast by VMware is a chat and comment collaboration platform. It improves internal communication and efficiency. However, when I joined Socialcast in the beginning of 2015, its chat tool was hard to use. It was unclear to users how to start a new chat, or to view their chat history. The feature was hidden.
Solution
We designed a new responsive, user-friendly, open chat panel that kept a timely updated interactive chat list. The panel significantly simplified chat, starting and organizing chats, and helped to streamline users' overall everyday workflows.

Contribution
I conceptualized and authored the feature, from the whiteboard and my sketchbook, to flows, wires, comps, assets, and carefully built specifications for our developers.
